As I stated above, the mids and highs sounded great to me, but with the bass response a little lacking for my taste, my search continues for the perfect earbud. ![]() Better ambient sound suppression when making calls would be welcome.I’d like a little more of a sealed fit, but that didn’t negatively impact their stability.A little more bass response would be welcome, but of course, that is subjective.I think most people that like earbuds would find these comfortable. The midrange and higher frequencies sounded great.I was pleasantly surprised that when I enabled low-latency mode, while the sync wasn’t perfect, it was really, really close – close enough, in fact, that I could watch and listen without really noticing the delay unless I really focused on it. Using the earbuds to watch TV was frustrating as the sound was just enough behind the video to look weird. With sound, it can make a video’s sound look out of sync. This delay can screw up a gaming experience when your wireless controller responds a little slowly, causing you to miss something. Latency is the delay inherent in anything using a radio signal to communicate. I also tested the low-latency mode with my TV. Putting the bud back in your ear automatically resumes the music. When listening, removing either earbud from your ear automatically pauses the playback. Switch modes among ANC on, ANC off, Transparency: Hold on the L(left) earbud for 2 seconds.Activate low-latency mode: Tap the L(left) earbuds 4 times.Activate voice assistants: Hold on the R(right) earbud for 2 seconds.Reject a phone call: Hold on for 2 seconds.Previous: triple-tap the L(right) earbud.Skip Tracks : Next: triple-tap the R(right) earbud.I wish all touch-control earbuds worked as well. One thing I really liked was the touch control. The ambient sound pass-through mode did allow more ambient sound in. It did make a small difference, but not much. I wasn’t overly impressed with the noise-cancelation. Making calls in anything other than a relatively quiet environment will make the conversation difficult. With the M6s, if there was any background noise, my wife could hear it clearly. This isn’t necessarily the fault of the earbuds, as that is a difficult test that no earbuds that I have tested have passed. That was, until, I stepped into a stiff breeze. When I called my wife to test call quality, she said I sounded great. The noise cancelation worked reasonably well as did the ambient mode. That’s a personal preference, so your impression might be different. I’m not one of those that likes window-shaking bass, but I do like to hear it, and I just couldn’t with these earbuds. They felt very secure.Īs for sound, the mids and highs sounded great to me. They didn’t move at all no matter how I moved my head. But for those lucky folks that can wear earbuds comfortably, I believe these would feel great. Unfortunately for me, these earbuds are no exception. If you’ve read my other earbud reviews, you know that I have weirdly sensitive ears and earbuds hurt them. I will start the performance section with comfort. For my weird ears, that meant replacing the medium tip on the right bud with a large tip. The pairing process was straightforward like most Bluetooth pairings are. The M6 buds start their pairing process as soon as you open the case – no need to remove the buds. Pairing is a little different than most earbuds. The charging case can deliver four full charges to the buds, so a fully charged pair of buds and a fully charged case can power you through 25 hours of listening pleasure with breaks every five hours to recharge in the case. Each bud is conveniently labeled “L” or “R”, to help you keep them straight. You can see the charging pins at the bottom of the case openings and the charging contacts on the back of the earbuds. Small details like these make her daily struggle feel specific and real, and Watts finds subtlety in moments of frustration that could have been melodramatic. To be accessible for removal, a card must be completely uncovered with no cards overlapping it. The objective of the game is to take apart the pyramid, which you do by removing exposed cards in pairs, starting with the bottom row of the pyramid. The rest of the deck is your stockpile and you keep that off to the side face down. Set up your pyramid by dealing one card face up, then two cards overlapping that one card, and so on until you have seven rows. There's something pleasing about its arrangement, not to mention it's far easier to make a 2D pyramid flat on the table than it is to make a 3D one. If you want to keep playing, there's a variant where you can switch your fourth king for any other card that is still face down on the table. Admittedly, this game is more chance than skill, but it's still fun. It sounds simple enough, but the twist is if you turn up four kings in your centre pile before you've revealed the other cards on the table, you lose because there won't be any more cards to turn up. Then move that card to its corresponding pile and keep going until you can't make any more moves. (Aces represent one o'clock, jacks are 11 o'clock, queens are 12 o'clock, and kings go in a second pile in the centre, face up.) After you've moved the first card, turn over the top card of the stack you moved it to. ![]() Start the game by turning over the top card in the centre pile and put it under the hour pile that corresponds to its rank. Twelve of those piles go in a circular pattern that lines up with the hour markers on a clock face, and the 13th pile goes in the middle of the circle. To start the game, deal yourself 13 piles of four cards. The objective is to turn all the cards on the table face up. The format makes it feel like a race against time, even though time really doesn't figure into the game beyond the layout. Its simplicity and quick play time makes it a good choice if you only have a few moments to yourself. This was my favourite solo game as a kid. I originally decided to learn these two because I liked the way they looked on my table, which is reason enough if you're playing alone. When I was growing up, I didn't always have an opponent handy and I whiled away many an hour playing cards by myself.
